The Diocesan Brigade
There is a lot of information available about the Diocesan Brigade, and much of it has been compiled by Edmund LeGrelle of the New Zealand Badgers Club (Edmund also helped with information on the Kings Standard, and many other little snippets of historical significance).
The Anglican Church was instrumental in a large number of Troops being formed in Christchurch, and it had its own rules and regulations on top of those introduced by the New Zealand Scouting Association. Essentially the Diocesan Brigade was the collection of these Church-driven Troops in New Zealand from around the time of its beginning through to approximately 1921-22 (primarily Canterbury and Auckland). After this time all Troops were reorganised under one collective organisation.
The Diocesan Brigade Troops in Christchurch formed the No. 2 district, while all other Troops formed the No. 1 district.
More information will be added as it becomes available...
