The Lady Liverpool Cup
In 1920 Lady Liverpool presented a silver cup to the Avonside Troop to be competed for amongst its members. This cup was transferred to St. Matthew's in 1922 along with the Troop, and is still with us. It is referred to as the Lady Liverpool Cup.
Its looking well used these days, and has become more of a mantelpiece item than a competition cup. Perhaps one day it will find its way back into the hands of a proud patrol... but for now it remains an important part of our history.
The inscription reads:
Presented By
Her Excellency The Countess Of Liverpool
To The
Avonside Troop
Boy Scouts
